Mike Riding of Process Instruments (Pi) attended a reception at 10 Downing Street, on Monday 22nd June 2009, to honour Britain’s most innovative companies and acknowledge their contribution to business.

Prime Minister Gordon Brown Was Hosting

The reception was hosted by Prime Minister Gordon Brown and Business Secretary Lord Mandelson and was attended by 150 from different sectors of the economy.

Pi is becoming known in the water industry for their innovative ideas and product development. Their willingness to take risks and push technological boundaries during extremely tough economic times, has seen the launch of the world’s first auto-calibrating residual chlorine analyser with two-way remote communication, the CRIUS 100 Auto-calibrating pH, and the CRIUS 3600PS Pool and Spa in 2008, and this year will see the launch of two new products; the SoliSense, the world’s first solids probe to auto-range from low NTU (very clean water) to percent solids (very dirty water), and the world’s first in-situ automatic calibration self-checking Dissolved Oxygen Meter.

Over the last three years, Pi has successfully established itself as a pioneering company in the design, development and supply of leading edge analyzers fit for the 21st century. Thanks to its continued development projects the company has been nominated/won several business awards including; winner of the Innovation Award and finalist for the Export and Marketing Award at Burnley Business & Innovation Awards 2009; finalist for Innovation and Business of the Year Awards at the BIBAS 2009; winner of the O2 Award for Innovation through Technology 2008 (NWSCA); winner of a DTi SMART award and recipient of a DTi grant for Research & Development (NWDA).
