Pi’s water quality analyzers ensure the safety of water for military and civilian use in Matsu Islands, Taiwan
Pi’s engineers carried out routine maintenance visits for several water quality analyzer sites on the Matsu Islands, Taiwan. There are several of Pi’s multi and single parameter water quality analyzer systems installed on the Nangan Island, Beigan Island and the surrounding scattered islands, working to control and monitor the safety of drinking water for the local army and nearby towns/cities. These systems are installed in a variety of applications across this region, such as drinking water plants, wastewater plants, pipe networks and many more.
The multi and single parameter systems installed monitor residual chlorine, turbidity, pH, temperature and other parameters. All these measurements are controlled by the CRIUS®4.0, Pi’s top of the range instrument controller. What sets Pi’s equipment apart from the rest is the longevity and robustness they offer. All these water quality analyzer systems have been in place and working steadily for almost a decade. Their readings, response time and general performance are exactly the same as when they were first installed. It has been highly praised by local users. When speaking about the performance of Pi’s water quality analyzers, one of our customers said:
“Seeing these devices, we immediately remembered the installation and commissioning from more than 7 years ago. After many years, we are very happy to see them again and know that they continue to operate steadily.”

As remote islands can be difficult to travel to, the CRIUS®4.0 drinking water systems on the Matsu Islands use built-in PID control modules for real time automatic dosing control of chlorine during the water production process. The aim is to keep the level of residual chlorine controlled within a small range of deviation, under the premise of ensuring the safety of water quality. Pi has helped save a lot of chemical usage for these water stations using PID, as well as significantly reduced maintenance and travel costs. Pi also offers remote access, meaning that it is not always necessary to physically be at the site to fix any potential issues or change dosing parameters. This can be done from almost anywhere in the world where internet services are available.
These automatic dosing control systems controlled by the CRIUS®4.0, have been running stably for more than 7 years, and will continue to run steadily for many more. To learn more about how the CRIUS®4.0 can improve your water quality systems, just give us a ring on +44 (0)1282 422835.
