Advanced Water Treatment Technologies Training
We recently hosted two engineers from Water Technology Ltd., Pi’s service partner in Ireland, for a two-day technical training session at our headquarters in the UK.
Krzysztof Ikwanty and Eamonn Sheehy joined us for an in-depth review of Pi’s water analysis and process control technologies, covering both established products and our latest innovations, including:
- CoagSense Coagulation Controller
- Chloribrid® Hybrid Residual Chlorine Monitor
CoagSense is Pi’s fully integrated coagulation control platform, designed to optimize dosing in real time. The system processes multiple input parameters, including pH, flow, temperature, UV254, turbidity, and streaming current, to generate a flow-proportional control output. This output can be sent to a plant’s SCADA system or directly drive a coagulant dosing pump.

Because coagulation efficiency depends on site-specific variables such as raw water quality, coagulant chemistry, downstream treatment conditions, and plant hydraulics, Pi does not offer a “one-size-fits-all” configuration. Each CoagSense installation is engineered to meet the operational requirements of the specific facility.

Chloribrid® is a patented hybrid monitoring solution that integrates electrochemical sensing with DPD colorimetric analysis for online measurement of free or total residual chlorine. By combining these two technologies in a single instrument, Chloribrid® delivers greater accuracy, redundancy, and reliability than either method alone while eliminating many of their respective limitations. The result is more robust chlorine measurement and improved process control in water disinfection.
The training, led by Pi’s Lead Service Engineer Wes, included a detailed walkthrough of control algorithms, parameter settings, and maintenance procedures. Thanks to our new hands-on training room, Krzysztof and Eamonn were able to work directly with live analyzer units and system interfaces, gaining practical, real-world troubleshooting experience.
“The training was fantastic- the guys at Pi were informative and engaging. It was good to increase our technical knowledge on Pi’s systems and interesting to learn about Pi’s new innovative product releases too.”
We value our partnership with Water Technology Ltd. and are committed to supporting their technical team so customers across Ireland receive the same high-level service and expertise as those in the UK.
